ADRICOSM-STAR

 

ADRIatic Sea integrated COastal areaS and river basin Management system

Montenegro coastal area and Bojana river catchment

 

In the framework of ADRICOSM-STAR, cooperative research Project between Italy and Montenegro, oceanographic cruise is planned with research vessel R/V “Maria Grazia” from 11-31 July 2009. The aim of the cruise is making bathymetric, oceanographic and sedimentological investigation of the Montenegrin coastal sea. The cruise is carried out as a continuation from earlier activities in the field of bathymetry done in 2008 and 2009 by vessels R/V “Dallaporta” and R/V “Urania”.

The plan of investigation includes:

  1. multibeam bathymetric mapping in the offshore from the -150m contour to the -10m contour and multibeam bathymetric mapping of the Bokakotorska Bay
  2. CHIRP Subbotom and magnetometric profiling in the offshore area
  3. Bottom sampling in the investigate area (using grab, box and gravity corer)

During the cruise scientific team from Institute of Marine Biology will work together with Italian colleagues and students from CNR-ISMAR Bologna.
